About
Rich works with a limited numbers of real estate clients so that he may provide personalized attention throughout the entire process.
In fact, more than one of Rich’s clients have said, “When we worked with Rich to buy our apartment, we felt like we were his only client.” The decision to buy or sell a home is deeply personal for most people, and Rich gets this…as a matter of fact, he and his clients often form lasting bonds…Rich has been invited to his clients’ birthdays, weddings and housewarmings.
Rich attended undergraduate school at Tulane University in New Orleans, where he fell in love with the city, remaining there for three years after he graduated, working for Merrill Lynch as a financial consultant.

Mr. C - Vanderbilt University's Mascot
His next step was earning an M.B.A. at Vanderbilt University, where the mascot is named for Vanderbilt University’s founder, Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt. It is for this reason that Rich’s first Manhattan real estate companies were Commodore Mortgage Group and Commodore Property Group.
Immediately after receiving his MBA he joined Brown Brother Harriman, the nation’s oldest and largest private bank, as an associate in asset management. His job was to sell the firm’s investment capabilities to investment consultants, foundations and endowments, and corporations.
In 2000 he was recruited to join Sanford C. Bernstein in a similar role as Vice President, Consultant Relations. And in 2003 he left Wall Street to join his family’s real estate firm in Connecticut.
After realizing that he enjoyed working in a smaller entrepreneurial environment, but having grown tired of the commute to Connecticut, he co-founded Commodore Mortgage Group in 2004 and then Commodore Property Group in 2008.
Now Rich has taken the name of Bouchner & Co. Real Estate for his company in order to more closely identify himself with the firm. This provides transparency to buyers and sellers — they know who stands behind the reputation of the company.
Rich has lived in Union square as a renter, on the Upper West side as a coop owner and board president, and he now resides in a brownstone in Harlem with his beautiful wife, Rite.
